SAFE-RING: Protecting personnel and installations from splashes

The safe-ring is an ingeniously designed splash ring for flanged connections, based on the principles of fluid dynamics.

In the event of a leak, its special diffuser, positioned between the flanges, effectively attenuates the jet and reliably limits dangerous splashing.

An ideal solution for meeting the most stringent plant safety requirements.

The Safe-Ring diffuser is a "C"-shaped duct, which fits exactly between the flange plates and acts as an impact and deflection surface.
In the event of a leak, it effectively reduces the speed of the outgoing flow thanks to a controlled increase in cross-section and high turbulence in the space between the flanges.

Its snap-fit closure ensures fast, tool-free installation.

Principe et fonctionnement d'un Safering

Le milieu sous haute pression est détendu au niveau du point de rupture du joint d’étanchéité. Il en résulte une transformation directe en énergie cinétique.

Celle-ci est dégradée progressivement et fiablement en raison de la forme particulière de la bague SAFE-RING, de sorte que le milieu peut s’écouler entièrement sans former de projections.

Première phase: principe du contre-courant.

Le diffuseur en forme de C vient se placer avec exactitude entre les feuilles de la bride et sert de surface de déflexion et anti-chocs.

Le milieu qui s’écoule est dévié plusieurs fois sur les surfaces déflectrices en courants partiels antagonistes et se croisant. La vitesse de flux est freinée en conséquence.

Deuxième phase: principe de l’arrosoir.

Le diffuseur en forme de C subdivise l’espace compris entre les feuilles bridées et la gaine de la bague en espaces partiels et ne laisse passer le milieu que par les perçages/orifices pratiqués dans le diffuseur.

La répartition en d’autres flux partiels provoque une diminution supplémentaire de la vitesse d’échappement.

Troisième phase: joint labyrinthe.

La gaine de la bague munie de rainures/cannelures fait que le milieu qui s’échappe de l’espace de détente intérieur à l’air libre est encore dévié ou tourbillonné pour atteindre la dégradation complète de l’énergie cinétique.

Le milieu s’échappe sans former de projections.
