The SELF-REGULATING heating cable consists of two metal conductors embedded in a matrix made of a polymer with specific properties.
Thus, when an electrical voltage is applied to the two conductors, the matrix—enriched with conductive carbon—reacts by varying its resistivity in response to external temperature conditions.

The “self-regulating” technology prevents the cord from overheating and allows it to be placed side-by-side when protecting faucets or other plumbing fixtures. Its metal braid also provides personal protection by grounding the heating cord.
Laboratory tests and experience gained from thousands of kilometers of installed cable demonstrate the product’s longevity.
Few components and/or accessories.
Today, it is essential to ensure the instantaneous supply of domestic hot water to every tap in the system at the lowest possible cost. The AUTOCÂBLE cord, by eliminating the traditional “domestic hot water loop,” keeps domestic hot water circulating continuously through the pipes.
The two copper conductors (1.25 mm² cross-section) are embedded in a “self-regulating” matrix that forms the core of the cable. The quality of the “component” and the cross-linking process determine the quality of the self-regulation and the durability of this property over time. Above the HDPE protective layer is a tinned copper metal braid used for grounding. Finally, the entire assembly is covered with a protective jacket made of polyolefin (BMX) or fluoropolymer (BMF).
Circuit breaker sizing for cold start:
1 - Select the system’s start-up temperature by setting the TH 40 thermostat between 0 °C and 40 °C.
2 - Based on the selected AUTOCÂBLE self-regulating cable and the set start-up temperature, determine the cold start current (see technical specifications table).
- Perform the calculation as follows: e.g.: Start-up at 10 °C of a 20 BMX cable, 90 m long
Total current = (Start-up current × 90 m) × 1.3
= 0.21 × 90 × 1.3
= 24.57 A
Rated amperage of standard circuit breakers:
10 - 16 - 20 - 21 - 32 - 40 - 50 - 63.
In this specific case, a single 32 A Type C circuit breaker should be used.
