Applications:

  • Protects water meters, pipes, tanks, door thresholds, irrigation systems, potted plants, vivariums, enclosures, etc., from freezing
  • Plugs directly into the mains; the system includes a bimetallic thermostat that cuts off power to the cable when the temperature exceeds 5/8°C
  • 2-meter cold connection = AC power cable
  • Installation on steel or stainless steel pipes, painted surfaces, or plastic

Installation:

  • Electrical protection: self-regulating cables must be installed with a circuit breaker or a 30mA residual current device (RCD) with a C or K curve rating to ensure the safety of people and the self-regulating tape (standard D NFC 15-100)
  • Determining cable length: Measure the length of the piping and add 10% to account for fittings and connections
  • The thermostat must be in direct contact with the piping and located under the insulation

  • Max. operating temperature when powered = 50°C
  • Max. exposure temperature when not powered = 65°C
  • Thermal classification (T code according to EN50014) = T6 (85°C)
  • Minimum installation temperature = -20°C
  • Minimum bend radius at -20°C = 30 mm
  • Minimum bending radius at 20°C = 13 mm
  • Weight = 66 kg/km
  • Maximum conductor resistance at 20°C = 33 Ohms/km
  • Electrical shielding resistance = 14 Ohms/km
  • Nickel-plated copper conductor diameter = 0.96 mm
  • Conductor cross-sectional area = 0.56 mm²
  • Electrical protection rating IP54

  • Electrically conductive polymer
  • Nickel-plated copper conductor
  • Polyolefin electrical insulation
