Application:

  • Assemblies made using GEBSOPLAST GEL PLUS adhesive must be carried out under the following conditions: (Excerpts from DTU 60-31, -32, -33 CH 3.21). The application temperature must be between +5°C and +35°C.

Preparation:

  • Check for the presence of a chamfer at the end of the male end of the pipe or fitting. If the pipe is cut on-site, recreate this chamfer using a file or any other method that produces the same profile.
  • To ensure the male end fits fully into the socket, measure and mark the depth of the socket on the male end of the pipe or fitting using a grease pencil or marker.
  • To remove the surface layer from the components, rotate the parts to be joined (male end and socket) while sanding them with fine-grit sandpaper: the use of a file, rasp, or saw blade is strictly prohibited for this operation.

Instructions:

  • Clean both parts to be joined using a clean cloth soaked in GEBSOPLAST STRIPPER; take care not to remove the markings during this process.
  • Be sure to remove all traces of moisture from the parts to be glued using a clean, dry cloth.
  • Using a brush, apply a generous and even coat of adhesive, first to the socket opening, then to the entire length of the male end, finishing in the longitudinal direction.
  • Since the adhesive dries relatively quickly, immediately fit the two parts together firmly, pushing lengthwise without twisting, up to the mark you initially drew.
  • Immediately clean off any excess adhesive after bonding using a clean cloth (once the adhesive has dried, it is more difficult to remove the excess).
  • In all cases, it is necessary to allow for a minimum drying time before handling the assembly to prevent any relative movement of the parts.
  • To prevent excessive evaporation of volatile solvents, make sure to tightly close the containers holding the adhesive and stripper between uses.

Standards:

  • CE Marking: DoP No. 21046622-1
  • CSTB Certified: Certificate No.: 11-AD04
  • ACS Drinking Water Compatibility: EUROFINS Certificate 12 CLP NY 036
  • Does not contain THF
