KMIX Safety Kit

Function:

The KMIX ensures the safety of a domestic hot water system using a vertical electric water heater or a thermodynamic water heater.
The kit is suitable for residential installations where the volume of water between the water heater and the draw-off points is less than 3 liters (equivalent to 19.5 meters of 14/16 copper tubing).

Available in the following versions:

  • Standard: with GSL safety group
  • Stainless steel seat: with GSLI safety group (connecting tube included)
  • Eco model: with GSL safety group (connecting tube included)

The KMIX models in this range come with a flexible connection hose between the mixer and the Y-valve.

The new KMIX units consist of two dielectric fittings, a branch tee, a thermostatic mixer, a standard safety group, and a trap. They allow for easy installation of a VEXBAL® sanitary expansion tank and provide a branch line for unmixed hot water to the kitchen or laundry room.

The eco model (KMIXéco) consists of a 3/4" FF mounting fitting, a thermostatic mixer, a branch tee, a connection hose, a standard GSL safety group, and a trap.

The unit performs the following functions:

  • Pressure safety
  • Opening/closing of the water supply to the water heater
  • Anti-pollution
  • Draining the water heater by operating the valve cap

The unit consists of:

  • a check valve (anti-pollution function) that can be controlled
  • a shut-off valve (ball valve)
  • a safety valve, set to 7 bar, 100% tested during assembly, stainless steel seat: blue handle
  • a drain to the sewer, with splash guard and integrated air vent

3/4" safety units protect water heaters up to
10 kW.

The thermostatic mixer: (See photo)

The mixer valve corresponds to class 20 (3/4"M) and type RU—user-adjustable—lever (B).
The mixer valve operates via a thermostatic cartridge (A) immersed in the mixed water flow, driving a valve that controls the flow of hot and cold water at the inlet. The thermostatic element maintains the outlet temperature (D) at its set point.
Adjustment range: 30 / 50°C, Accuracy +/- 2°C
Kv: 1.85 (m³/h)

NOTE: Installation is possible with elbow assemblies.
