Function:

The pressure-independent automatic regulating and balancing valve is a device consisting of an automatic flow stabilizer and a regulating valve. It maintains a constant flow rate (with the ability to adjust it) regardless of variations in the differential pressure conditions of the circuit on which it is installed.

Flow is regulated in two ways:

  • Manually via the automatic flow stabilizer, to limit the maximum flow rate
  • Automatically, via the control valve, coupled with a proportional (0–10 V) or ON/OFF actuator, depending on the thermal requirements of the circuit to be controlled.

The pressure-independent automatic control and balancing valve (PICV) is supplied with fittings for pressure taps, upstream and downstream, to verify operating conditions.
The device is intended for HVAC systems.

  • Dezincification-resistant brass body, EPDM diaphragm
  • Max. operating pressure: 16 bar
  • Temperature range: -20 °C / 120 °C
  • Glycol: max. 50%
  • Differential pressure range: 25 / 400 Pa

Operating principle:

The pressure-independent automatic control and balancing valve (PICV) controls the flow rate of a circuit so that it is:

  • Regulated according to its thermal requirements
  • Constant regardless of variations in the circuit’s differential pressure.
