PER tube with red oxygen barrier (BAO)

Description:

Piping system based on PE-Xa pipes with an oxygen barrier, designed for heating installations.

Standards and certification:

  • CSTB Technical Approval
  • Compliance with ISO 10508
  • Compliance with EN ISO 15875

To be used exclusively with radial-type press fittings (click here).

Slip-on fittings cannot be used due to the tube’s outer diameter (which is larger than the inner diameter of the brass ring).

Class 4, Class 5 for heating only.

Applications:

  • Class 4: 6 bar - Low-temperature radiators, underfloor heating,
  • Class 5: 6 bar - High-temperature radiators,

Technical specifications:

  • Cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xa) tubing
  • EVOH oxygen barrier
  • Coefficient of thermal expansion 0.16 mm/m·K
  • Thermal conductivity 0.35 W/m·K

Be sure to take expansion and contraction into account during the design and installation of the system. Pipes must be able
to expand freely without causing damage to supports, fittings (especially valves), and wall penetrations (when pipes are installed exposed or in conduits).

It is necessary to:

  • Either ensure that the pipes are guided to a fixed point
  • Or allow for free movement of the pipes between two connections
