Three types of fittings, one multilayer pipe.

Wavin multilayer pipes are compatible with all Wavin multilayer fittings: Tigris M1 and M5, Tigris K1, and smartFIX.The pipes meet the requirements for connection systems used in hot or cold water distribution (Class 2), heating (Class 4 or 5), and chilled water. They pose no food safety risk: both pipes and fittings have a Certificate of Sanitary Conformity.

The multilayer pipe consists of an inner layer of cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xc), an outer layer of polyethylene, and an aluminum core welded edge-to-edge using a laser process. These three layers are seamlessly bonded together using an adhesive film.

This results in a five-layer pipe structure. The plastic-metal combination offers, in addition to perfect leak-tightness, several advantages:

• The pipe is flexible and resistant to impact and kinking.
• Easy bending minimizes the number of fittings required in an installation.
• The tube’s layers are integral; its linear expansion coefficient is determined by the aluminum core. It is similar to that of copper.
