The differential pressure regulator maintains the pressure difference between two points in a hydraulic circuit at a preset value.
The balancing valve (shut-off and preset) balances the flow of the heat transfer fluid in the circuit where it is installed. This circuit can also be controlled by the differential pressure regulator.
Adjusting the differential pressure prevents noise and turbulence in variable-flow circuits, but above all ensures proper balancing.

The controller and preset shut-off valve are supplied with an insulation jacket for optimal thermal insulation of the system.
The circuit is regulated by the combined action of two devices: the balancing valve and the differential pressure regulator. Through the capillary tube connecting them, they control the flow rate and differential pressure in the relevant circuit zone according to the system’s operating conditions. The balancing valve regulates the design flow rate using a profiled plug.
The differential pressure regulator proportionally restores the preselected differential pressure conditions on the valve based on the current flow rate of the devices, particularly two-way thermostatic valves.
The supply pressure in the connecting capillary (3) acts on the upper surface of the diaphragm (2); the return pressure in the connection internal to the control shaft (4) acts on the lower surface of the diaphragm. The force exerted by the pressure differential on the diaphragm generates a thrust on the shutter shaft (5) and closes the return fluid passage in the circuit zone until the thrust on the diaphragm and the counter-thrust of the counterbalance spring (6) reach a point of equilibrium at the predefined Dp value. This is the pressure differential value that remains constant between the supply and return of the heating circuit even when, in a reverse physical process, the thermostatic valves open to increase the flow rate supplied to the heating elements.
